Eagle Eye can easily be argued to be the number one most prestigious award winning organizations at Chaminade. Eagle Eye is a business operated by students in Chaminade’s Global Economic Leadership (GEL) class, taught by Aron Gideon. The company’s mission is to provide sports media services designed to increase better performance and promotion for both coaches and athletes of Chaminade sports teams. Members of Eagle Eye can most easily be identified at all Chaminade football games and even practices. The crew is usually dispersed throughout the field. At one end zone, a large high-tech camera is placed to document the game from that angle. Other members have their own hand-held video cameras where they can be seen running up and down the side lines taping some of the great plays. More cameras sit on our home bleachers all the way on top of where the game announcements are made. These record the game from a birds-eye-view. This footage is essential for both coaches and players to see their strengths and weaknesses needed to improve. This past summer, Eagle Eye, won the national 2012 Junior Achievement Company of the Year Award. Five student representatives and Chaminade business teacher, Aron Gideon traveled to Washington, D.C. for the National Student Leadership Summit and competition between 15 other student-run companies. The competition was held from July 30 through August 2, and included an annual report, a commercial, and trade fair display with interviews. Before this competition took place, Eagle Eye won the SoCal Student Company of the Year Award which allowed them to qualify to move on to the next round in Washington D.C.
They were recognized for Best Tradeshow Booth, Best Financial Projections and Most Innovative Company.
